Welcome to Safeguarding Children Initiative

Helping Today
Secure Tomorrow

Since 2023, Safeguarding Children initiative has been dedicated to the mission of ensuring the survival, learning, and protection of all children in Nigeria.

Our primary focus is safeguarding children, particularly those who are most vulnerable, including girls, orphans, children in vulnerable circumstances, and those affected by conflict. Our initiatives span from grassroots community efforts to national-level campaigns aimed at championing children’s rights and ensuring their protection. We also tirelessly advocate for gender equality in education and work diligently to prevent child marriage.

In collaboration with local health workers and the healthcare system, we are enhancing capacity to address malnutrition effectively and implement cost-effective interventions that save the lives of newborns. We actively participate in a consortium dedicated to guaranteeing that every child in Nigeria receives vital immunizations, while also advocating for increased government investment in healthcare and nutrition.

Our commitment to education encompasses expanding access to quality learning, including early childhood care. Simultaneously, we address the root causes of poverty and work to minimize their impact on children by strengthening household livelihoods and resilience.

In times of humanitarian crisis, we establish child-friendly spaces where children can learn, plan, and receive the support necessary for trauma recovery. Furthermore, we establish temporary learning spaces and facilitate the re-enrollment of out-of-school children, ensuring that every child can receive an education.
